Career development

  • MA in Public Art from Chelsea School of Art and Design 1999- 2000

  • BA (hons) Fine Art, Sculpture from the University of Northumbria  1980 - 83

  • Exhibited in commercial galleries including Beaux Arts in Bath, Cadogan in Knightsbridge and Mc Hardy Sculpture Co near Tower Bridge, London.

  • Have large scale public art installed in Burgess Hill, Guildford town centre, Buchan Country Park in West Sussex, Horsham Park, Old Manor Hospital in Salisbury and Warneford Hospital, Oxford

  • Have been resident artist in South India twice 

  • Professional member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors (MRBS)

  • Have completed many projects in schools including a term long project to make cement sculpture at Croydon High School in Surrey and a 10 week cross curricular project of dance, film, drawing and wire sculpture at Steyning Grammar School in West Sussex

  • Have collaborated with dancers for 2 projects.  One with contemporary dancer, Kate Lawrence producing film, drawing and light sculpture for a promenade performance finally at St Catherine's Chapel, Artington, Guildford in April 2000 see web site, another with Indian dancer Anusha Ayaru for a light sculpture installation at Surrey University in 2002 (see above)

  • Wild about Mid Sussex, 2nd June 2018, St John's Park Burgess Hill Event featuring exotic reptiles, bees, pond creatures alongside demonstrations and workshops

  • 2005 - 2018 Open studios in Horsham District two weekends in June/July each year

  • Wandsworth Artists' Open House in October 2015  Sculpture and watercolours alongside narrative painter Angela Brittain at St. Anns Crescent, Wandsworth SW18 2NG as part of 

  • Artists' Enclave at Sussex Prairies - Group of 5 very individual artists who show work together in pop up exhibition sites in the south east of England 30th and 31st August 2015.

  • HORSHAM ARTISTS OPEN STUDIOS exhibition at Roffey Park Institute, Forest Road, Horsham West Sussex RH12 4TB - 33 Horsham District artists exhibit in one place 17th & 18th May 2014

  • KINGS HILL  Display of 5 head sculptures installed in prestigious office foyer of Kings Hill near West Malling in Kent through November - January 2014.

  • 15th and 16th June  2013 Horsham Artists in Action at Sedgwick Park near Horsham, 30 local artists showed, sold work and demonstrated their skills

  • 2013/14 Partners in Art run a POP UP SHOP In Swan Walk, Horsham town centre. One of 5 artists who showed new work in March, May, September 2013 and March 2014.  The artists worked in the shop throughout and talked to visitors about how they work.

  • 2012 Summer Exhibition at Ashdown Gallery 

  • 2012 & 2011 Brighton Open House stone sculptures in the garden during Brighton Festival May.  45 Preston Drove BRIGHTON.  BN1 6LA.  

  • 2011 Large stone and wood carving at Harold Hillier Gardens, near Romsey Hampshire 

  • 2007 Fanfare Gateway was displayed in the RBS Spectrum show at Abbey House Gardens, Wiltshire

  • 2006 - 10 Portico Gallery, Riverhead, nr Sevenoaks, Kent.  Symbolic stone and wood head for sale. Currently 

  • 2004/5 Sculpture in the Garden, Harold Martin Botanic Garden, Leicester University.   Sleeping Gothic Buddha (See Gothic Buddha page) was sited in the garden and included in the exhibition catalogue 

  • 2004 March, Beyond Belief, St Mary's Church, Guildford, Surrey. 4 Man exhibition of film and large cement heads on the theme of identity

  • 2003 Park Life at Egerton Park, Bexhill on sea.  see public sculpture page

  • 2002 - 2003 East West Project, touring exhibition Howden Centre, West Lothian; Worthing Museum; Theatre Chipping Norton; Trinity Theatre, Tunbridge Wells; and Capitol theatre Gallery, Horsham.  Drawings and cement maquettes made as a response to an interest in contemporary dance in England and dance and theatre in South India

  • 1997 - 2004 Surrey and South East Open Studios.  Large collection of stone and wood carvings sited and shown in the artists garden and studio.  Included in catalogues produced for each event.  

  • 2002 Junction 1:Flowers, at Lewis Elton Gallery and Dance department foyer for Borderlands Artists.  Work with South Indian dancer - produced light sculpture and drawings to go with dance demonstration.  Supported by Arts Council grant.  

  • 2001 Summer show, Garden Gallery, Broughton Hants

  • 2000 East West Heads, at the Chitraniketan Art Gallery in Trivandrum, Kerala, South India

  • 1999 Down to the Sea, stone forms of fish, shells etc displayed as part of the Summer exhibition at Alpha House Gallery in Sherborne, Dorset

  • 1999 Artists of Fame and Promise, carved heads displayed at Beaux Arts gallery in Bath
