Open Houses in Horsham July 2008 As part of RAG Artists & Makers festival, 

Janine will be showing work in the garden and newly completed studio in Cowfold, South of Horsham, Sussex

  • 2007 Open studios for Artists and Makers Festival

  • 2006 Portico Gallery, Riverhead, nr Sevenoaks, Kent.  Symbolic stone and wood head for sale. Currently 

  • 2004/5 Sculpture in the Garden, Harold Martin Botanic Garden, Leicester University.   Sleeping Gothic Buddha (See Gothic Buddha page) was sited in the garden and included in the exhibition catalogue 

  • 2004 March, Beyond Belief, St Mary's Church, Guildford, Surrey. 4 Man exhibition of film and large cement heads on the theme of identity

  • 2003 Park Life at Egerton Park, Bexhill on sea.  see public sculpture page

  • 2002 - 2003 East West Project, at Howden Centre, West Lothian, Worthing Museum, Theatre Chipping Norton, Trinity Theatre going to Horsham's Capitol theatre gallery in October.  Drawings and cement maquettes made as a response to an interest in contemporary dance in England and dance and theatre in South India

  • 2003 Surrey and South East Open Studios.  Large amount of stone and wood carvings sited and shown in the artists garden and studio.  Included in catalogues produced for each event.  This will happen annually  

  • 2002 Junction 1:Flowers, at Lewis Elton Gallery and Dance department foyer for Borderlands Artists.  Work with South Indian dancer - produced light sculpture and drawings to go with dance demonstration.  Supported by Arts Council grant.  

  • 2001 Summer show, Garden Gallery, Broughton Hants

  • 2000 East West Heads, at the Chitraniketan Art Gallery in Trivandrum, Kerala, South India

  • 1999 Down to the Sea, stone forms of fish, shells etc displayed as part of the Summer exhibition at Alpha House Gallery in Sherborne, Dorset

  • 1999 Artists of Fame and Promise, carved heads displayed at Beaux Arts gallery in Bath

Career development

  • BA (hons) Fine Art, Sculpture from the University of Northumbria, and a MA in Public Art from Chelsea School of Art and Design

  • Exhibited in commercial galleries and have permanent public art in Guildford town centre, 2 parks in West Sussex and Old Manor Hospital in Salisbury

  • Have been resident artist in South India twice 

  • Professional member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors (RBS)

  • Have completed various projects in schools including 10 week cross curricular project including dance, film, drawing and wire sculpture at Steyning Grammar School in West Sussex

  • Have collaborated with dancers for 2 projects.  One with contemporary dancer, Kate Lawrence producing film, drawing and light sculpture for a performance at St Catherine's Chapel, Artington, Guildford in April 2000 see web site, another with Indian dancer Anusha Ayaru for a light sculpture installation at Surrey University in 2002 (see above)
